A Faire to Remember: Community, Creativity, and Fun in Lewiston
By Bradley Everest
There’s something magical about the way morning light filters through the trees along the Trinity River, and on the day of the 2025 Lewiston Peddlers Faire, that magic was in full effect. As I sipped my first cup of fresh-brewed coffee and took in the buzz of early shoppers and the scent of warm sourdough, I knew I was in for one unforgettable day.
This year’s fair was a perfect blend of the classic and the new. Longtime favorites like the Country Peddler brought their signature charm, but what truly stood out to me was the fresh wave of talent that set up shop this year. The fair had an energy—like it was both rooted in tradition and bursting with new life.
Strolling through the booths felt like wandering through a living, breathing treasure chest. I ran my fingers over weathered kitchen tools that could’ve come straight out of my grandmother’s or even great-grandmother’s pantry. The antique section didn’t disappoint—each item with a story, each piece an echo of bygone days.
But it wasn’t all vintage and velvet. The newer artisans brought serious flair. There were hand-poured resin art pieces that shimmered in the sunlight, original paintings that practically demanded a place on your living room wall, and crochet stuffed animals that had both kids and adults grinning from ear to ear (yes, I bought one—I regret nothing).
One of my personal highlights – a vendor offering 3-D printed toys with a level of detail that made my inner child do a double-take. It’s not every day you find craftsmanship like that sitting next to a display of hand-stitched hats and screen-printed tees proudly representing our little slice of Trinity County.
And the aromas were just as inviting. Between the crackling crust of freshly baked focaccia and the sweet syrupy swirl of rainbow snow cones, it was impossible not to snack as you shopped. I’m fairly certain I spent just as much time at the food stalls as I did admiring jewelry or chatting with the artists. And why not? That’s half the fun.
There’s a reason the Lewiston Peddlers Faire is such a beloved annual event. It’s not just the shopping (though that’s top notch), or the food (seriously, don’t skip the bread). It’s the way this fair brings people together. Locals swapping stories, visitors discovering the charm of Trinity County for the first time, vendors proud to share their work—everyone’s part of the experience.
If you missed it this year, don’t worry—you can bet the fair will be back, better than ever. And if you were lucky enough to attend, I think you’ll agree: the 2025 Lewiston Peddlers Faire was more than just a market. It was a celebration of creativity, community, and the unique spirit that makes Trinity County such a special place to call home.
