Weaverville/Douglas City

For those who want to stay in or near Weaverville, the largest community in the county, visitors may choose lodging close to restaurants, theaters, museums or shopping and still have their Trinity Alps vacation experience.  Trinity Lake, Trinity River and the Trinity Alps are 20-30 minutes away.

Along the Trinity River are some of the best fly fishing spots in Northern California.  Rafting is as easy as stepping out the door and down the path to the river.

Hayfork/Hyampom

The Trinity County Fair Junior Livestock Auction, in August, brings fair-goers from miles around.  Hyampom is a beautiful valley way off the beaten track.

Trinity Center/Coffee Creek

Trinity Center and Coffee Creek are near the North end of Trinity Lake on Highway 3 and are the closest to trail heads entering the Trinity Alps Wilderness Area.  Houseboating on Trinity Lake or renting a cabin in the woods is the way to find the quiet and relaxation you have been looking for.

Southern Trinity

The Southern end of Trinity County includes Ruth Lake and Mad River.  It is noted for its hunting and fishing.  Highway 36 runs through it and  is well-used by motorcycle enthusiasts.
