LaGrange Classic 2025: A Weekend of Wheels, Warmth, and Community in Trinity County

The dust has settled—literally—on this year’s LaGrange Classic mountain bike race, and what a weekend it was! Hosted by the locally rooted Trinity Trail Alliance, the 2025 edition of the race brought together riders of all ages and skill levels for an unforgettable adventure in the beautiful mountain trails surrounding Weaverville.

Despite unseasonably hot weather, spirits were high and the trails were buzzing with energy. From seasoned riders to first-time racers, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Trails were in top condition, the course updates were a hit, and the signage was crystal clear—everything a rider could ask for when tackling the rugged beauty of Trinity County.

Trails for Every Rider

One of the most celebrated features of the LaGrange Classic is its accessibility to a wide variety of riders. The courses were expertly designed to challenge competitive mountain bikers while also offering a fun and achievable ride for newer participants. Whether winding through forested singletrack or cruising down fast-flowing descents, the trails served up just the right blend of technical challenge and natural beauty for each rider.

Among the standout stories was a nine-year-old rider from Yreka, tackling her very first race with her mom at her side. She tackled her course with grit, determination, and a very big smile—an inspiring reminder of the community-focused, family-friendly vibe that sets the LaGrange Classic apart.

A Race That Draws from Near and Far

The LaGrange Classic wasn’t just a local affair—it drew participants from all over the western U.S., including riders from Montana, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, and all corners of California. Some were return racers, while others were experiencing Trinity County for the first time. Many chose to turn the event into a full weekend getaway, camping out in Lowden Park and taking part in all the post-race fun.

More Than a Race

As any LaGrange Classic veteran knows, the magic doesn’t end at the finish line. The weekend extended into a lively celebration in Lowden Park, where participants and families enjoyed two nights of camping, camaraderie, and cooling off in the community pool (which was free to all racers, and very welcome in the heat)! The evenings came alive with food trucks, live music, a generous raffle, and the kind of campfire conversations that forge lasting friendships.

One of the most memorable parts of the weekend was sitting around the fire after the race, swapping stories with riders who had traveled from afar and decided to make the most of their Trinity County experience. First-timers and long-timers alike left with great memories and were already talking about returning next year.

Heartfelt Thanks to the Volunteers and Sponsors

A massive Thank You goes out to the Trinity Trail Alliance for organizing such a fantastic event. The race is the result of nearly nine months of planning and the incredible efforts of over 60 volunteers who make race weekend happen. It simply wouldn’t be possible without their dedication. Kudos and thank you to them all!

We also extend our deepest gratitude to our generous sponsors:

Your support helped bring this special event to life once again.

See You in 2026!

If this year’s LaGrange Classic showed us anything, it’s that Trinity County can host a top-tier race that also feels like a family reunion. We can’t wait to see what next year brings—more riders, more memories, and even more fun.

Until then, keep riding, stay connected, and we’ll see you back on the trails in 2026!
