Annual Scholarship Auction
The Highland Art Center’s Annual Scholarship Silent Auction is a fan favorite event every year! We receive generous donations of beautiful artwork in various mediums, and 100% of the proceeds go toward a college or art school scholarship for a local area student pursuing their higher education within the Arts.
This year we will be raffling off a beautiful Thai temple rubbing. It was a gift from an employee of the U.S. Embassy in the 1960s and was donated to the gallery by the Slater family. Be sure to swing by and get your raffle tickets for this beautifully intricate work of art, the bidding begins during the Art Cruise opening on Feb. 3 from 5-8 p.m. and will extend through the spring and summer with a drawing on July 4th.
This is a great time to acquire art at a fabulous price and it feels good knowing that every last dollar will be used to help an art student further their education.
The Highland Art Center is located at 691 Main St. in historic Weaverville and is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. You are welcome to check on your bids over the phone throughout the month if you can’t swing by the gallery. For more information call 530-623-5111.
